Hotel Rita Major - Florence

Good breakfast with tasty coffee every morning.

Lovely small hotel in a comfortable location right near the beautiful grand synagogue, liked this place. They offered us brand-new and air-conditioned rooms with the garden as well as a bathroom. Our experience here was very good.

In general the staff were knowledgeable and extremely friendly.

Good intentions, flawed execution

The courtyard is a tranquil oasis, and every moment spent there is good. The staff's really good warmth and readiness to accommodate needs, even early breakfast requests were met with enthusiasm.

The soundproofing leaves much to be desired. Noise from the street and other guests can be quite intrusive.

The room was fantastic value for money - it was very large and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the restaurant they recommended was nice. Breakfast in the morning could use some improvement.

The downside is that the entire room only had one electric plug, and that the wireless internet signal was too slow to use. A plug by the desk would be nice, as well as wireless internet in each room.

Directions to reach the hotel by city bus from Firenze SMN station were not correct. The bus stop ( P.zza Massimo D'Azeglio) mentioned on the hotel's website does not exist while coming from the station to the hotel. This bus stop is on the route from hotel to the station. It took longer for us to reach the hotel.

My stay was good with easy access to Piazza della Signoria and the fine Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, both just around a 15-minute stroll away, made my weekend city exploration enjoyable.

What we liked was the courtesy of the staff, the location of the hotel and the facility of the hotel car park organisation

The shower was too small and the water was running too low.

It is quite far from the city center. My single room was at the ground floor in the back yard of the main building. Room was very dark, with very poor ventilation and without any windows at all. It wasn't good choice – I do not recommend it.

Basic accommodations kept neat and clean, with an excellent shower in the bathroom. The breakfast spread included a solid variety of offerings like cereals, cold meats, and fresh fruit, enough to fuel you for the day ahead.

Rooms lack adequate shelving or seating. The absence of nightstands and electrical plugs near the additional bed is inconvenient. Noise travels easily through the thin walls, disrupting sleep as you can hear everything from the street and other rooms.

Hotel is not far from center, bus station is 10m, room is clean, staff is friendly.

Budget variant - many students (can be rather noisy)

We enjoyed the personal touch of Olga who greeted us at the door and carried our luggage, explained well what was available; answered questions and made us feel at home. We felt Olga is what represented the hotel well. The room was small, but clean and the location perfect. Highly recommend for those who are not fussy people and who want a safe and clean location with easy access.

Hotel Rita Major was great with its warm hospitality. The staff were always friendly and very helpful. I particularly appreciated the lovely outdoor garden.

A very pleasant ambience, beautiful courtyard, friendly, helpful staff. The facilities in the room were simple, but comfortable. Little things that might have been difficult in the same class hotel, such as quality of the mattress and shower, were just fine in this hotel.

Not a complaint, although I wish they'd had an electric adapter plug.
